TLAC is offering new workshops and classes for the fall! Each class is listed below. You can find all the registration forms under downloads on our website. If you have any questions feel free to contact us.

Payments can be made in one of two ways:
Payment Plan #1: Pay the FULL AMOUNT at registration (includes non-refundable deposit)
Payment Plan # 2: Pay $75 the 3rd week of each month

All materials included.
 
Students will receive a DVD of their final performance and a t-shirt.

Mondays:
Broadway Theater Dance: (4:30 - 5:30pm)
Ages 10 & up - 12 weeks - $180.00 – limit 12 students
Learn an exciting and authentic Broadway show dance routine EVERY MONTH! Then perform in a dance showcase as a final performance! Great for audition preparation, exercise, or just for fun!  Be prepared to move! Wear comfortable clothing and soft-soled shoes like Jazz shoes or flexible Keds type sneakers.
Adult Ensemble Class: (5:30 - 6:30pm)
Ages 21 & up - 12 weeks - $180.00 - limit 12 students
Want to learn how to be a dramatic actor? Speak in front of a crowd? Be a stand-up comedian? Move like a Broadway dancer? The sky’s the limit for this fun and entertaining class! The curriculum is YOUR choice! So take a night off from the kids and come experience life at the theatre.

Tuesdays:
DRAMA CLASS A: (4:30 - 5:30pm)
Grades K-2 - 12 weeks - $180.00

All students will help create an original play with music in a positive, nurturing and educational environment to build confidence and self-esteem will work towards a final production. Students write, produce and perform an original musical play on the TLAC stage! Each week the students will have a different agenda such as: brainstorming story ideas and characters, writing scenes from the play, learning how-to audition, staging and working on characterization, rehearsing original songs and dances, or rehearsing their show!  We provide costumes, props, sound effects, programs, set dressing…etc. We videotape their show for you and prepare a DVD for each family!

DRAMA CLASS B: (5:30 - 6:30pm)
Grades 6-8 - 13 weeks - $195.00 - limit 10 students

Dramatic Workshops: (5:30 - 6:30pm)
[August 19th]      Sounds Like a Character
- 6 weeks - $80.00 - limit 12 students
This fun workshop will have you talking like your favorite cartoon characters, speaking foreign accents like a native, and able to develop a unique and appropriate character voice for any role you play. You’ll learn simple techniques that teach you how to change your voices and replicate accents that you hear.
[October 7th]      …and Tell the Story!

Whether you’re a public speaker, an actor, or just want to learn how to speak in front of a crowd, then this workshop is for you! This innovative class interweaves techniques from a variety of performance styles to give students the tools for interpreting what they read and telling the story behind the words.

[August 20th]     Shakespeare: No Holds ‘Bard’
- 6 weeks - $80.00 - limit 12 students
This class is open not only to actors and performers, but also to anyone who wants to connect more closely with Will Shakespeare and learn more about his love for, and tolerance of, people just like us.  In this class, discover that Will wrote for us, with feelings and ideas that cross the years to speak to adults and young people today. You'll learn what the language means, and how to say it as if it were your natural everyday way of speaking.
[October 8th]     Acting for Film, TV, and Commercials - 6 weeks - $80.00 - limit 12 students
Want to build a great career as an on-camera talent? This workshop will jumpstart your on-camera skills and will show you a lot of inside tips and techniques for looking and sounding fabulous. You’ll be trained in acting for TV, commercials, movies, and tricks that top anchors and reporters use in nightly newscasts!

Thursdays: “The Snow Queen”
Two public performances – November 15th at 11am & 3pm

Drama Apprentice Class:  Ages 13-18 – 5:00-6:00pm - $200.00 - limited to 15 students

The Drama Apprentice students will prepare material from a variety of sources to boost their acting and audition skills. This class is for dedicated students who plan to perform in Community Theater and/or beyond. These students will meet every week for one hour and will be performing in “The Snow Queen” under the direction and guidance of the Tech Apprentice students.

Tech Apprentice Class: Ages 13-18 - 5:00-6:30 PM - $200.00 - limited to 5 students
An exciting hands-on experience for ages 13-18. Students in this class will learn how to produce, direct, and manage a play, how to handle box office, tech (sets/props/costumes) and all aspects of theater from the ground up.  These students will meet every week for 90 minutes along with the Drama Apprentice class to work on their own production together.  Students will be working on “The Snow Queen” and be responsible for seeing it through from start to finish.  This is for advanced students who are interested in learning the “backstage” responsibilities of theatre.
